This awesome car was the pride and joy of Ron Mael, one of the founding members of Sparks.

I spent a whole day with them at the Farmer’s Market in L.A., back in 1975. They were very playful, humorous, fun, and creative. What a great couple of guys to hang out with!

But get this: Ron drove his car all the way to the other end of the giant parking lot, spent a good amount of time putting a cover on his car, to protect it from the hot California sun and walked all the way back to where we were patiently waiting for him. 

Judging by his brother Russell’s face, he was used to this. Ron did not want anyone anywhere near his car! I have to admit, it is a pretty cool car. Classic Ford Thunderbird in Turquoise,
