Wow, what a long list of people with birthdays in November whom I’ve had the pleasure of photographing!
– John McVie of Fleetwood Mac. He was the only member of the group that I had a real conversation with on the boat in April 1977. He said that he had never heard of ABBA.
– Percy Sledge. Fun guy to shoot.
– Herman Brood. The very creative Dutch artist who passed away in 2001.
– Glenn Frey of The Eagles. RIP 2016. I had a great day with him and Don at his house in Laurel Canyon in the summer of 1975.
– Dr John – The Night Tripper.
– Joe Walsh. Joe has two of my prints of him in his home which were gifted by his wife. ️
– Graham Parker – Rockpile. Another fun guy to shoot.
– Gene Clark – founder of The Byrds. One of my hero’s.
– Errol Brown of Hot Chocolate. Great voice.
– June Pointer of The Pointer Sisters. On fire!
– Brownie McGhee of Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee.
– Leif Garrett. A true teen idol.
– Neil Young. Still Rockin’ in the Free World.
– Bonnie Raitt. Also still rockin’.
– Jim Steinman – the guy behind Meatloaf.
– Mini Ripperton. Wow, what a voice!
– JD Souther. Who sadly left us last year.
– Roy Wood. A very colorful individual.
– Randy Newman. While shooting Randy during a concert I got a little too close to him while trying to get a shot of him reflected in the piano. While playing, he stopped singing and said, “Are you making a movie?” I looked up from my camera to find myself on stage with him. Oops. How embarrassing! I waddled off backwards with a very red face.
– Ruby Starr – Super Starr
Thanks for reading till the end of the list!
Did I miss anyone?
