MY ONGOING CONNECTION WITH THE EAGLES
Many, many, many years ago, I hung out with The Eagles. Dutch OOR-journalist Constant Meijers and I went to Glenn Frey’s house down in Laurel Canyon. As they sat around talking, smoking, and snacking on cheese and crackers, I silently circled them with my camera.
I knew them fairly well by then, as I had photographed them several times. Glenn had been over to my little apartment in Hollywood to pick us up to go to a concert. My wife had offered to fix the holes in his jeans as he held my baby daughter.
And now, 50 years later, The Eagles are still in demand, as are their pictures. Life Magazine is coming out with 300.000 prints of the 3rd edition of their Eagles special. I will ask for a copy again, because it is a lot of fun seeing those pictures in print.
